Southern University picked up a third place finish by the
men and fifth by the women's team in the 2008 SWAC Indoor Track & Field
Championships held at Carl Maddox Field House on the LSU campus.
The SU Men's Team, picked up 83.5 points to finish third in team scoring behind 2008 champions, Prairie View A&M (143 pts) and runners-up, Jackson State (112) The Southern Women's Team finished with 56 points behind champion Jackson State (127) and runners-up Alabama State (101). Grambling State finished third (99) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff was fourth (70). SU India Anderson and Rodney Harris were also honored on the
weekend, as both were named to the 2008 All-SWAC Academic team. Anderson, a
senior from Baker, LA, carried a 3.51 GPA in Physics. Harris, a junior from
