SU'S ALBERT TURNER QUALIFIES FOR SEMI FINALS OF 400M AT THE 2006 NCAA OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS



Albert Turner qualified for Friday's 400m semi-finals with a 46.25 on Wednesday at the 2006 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

Southern University's Albert Turner, moved on to the semi-final round in the 400 meter dash, at the 2006 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held at Alex G. Spanos Sports Complex, on the campus of Cal State Sacramento.

Turner, a junior from Baton Rouge's Southern Lab High School, is also a wide receiver/kick returner on the Jags football team.. He ran a 46.25 in the preliminary round to qualify 13th for the semi's, to be held on Friday.

Meanwhile, Monica Robinson, who entered the 2006 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships as a regional champion, failed to move on to the next round, finishing the day with a long jump being a disappointing, 5.56m jump, or (18 ft.-03 in.). Robinson jumped a personal best 21 feet at the regionals.
