Southern University's Mario Spann, has been selected as the SWAC Baseball Player of the Week for his perfomances on the baseball diamond versus Jackson State. Spann (6-1, 190, Sr, R/R, OF, Baton Rouge, LA) helped lead the Jaguars to a 2-0 week, hitting for a .727 average (8-11), with 1 triple, 1 HR and 2 RBIs. He had 13 Total Bases and a .750 OB% and a 1.182 Slugging percentage. This marks the second time this season a SU Jaguar has been tabbed as a SWAC Player of the Week. Pitcher, Joshua Kirk, was named SWAC Pitcher of the Week, for the time frame of March 13th thru March 26th. |
