June 6, 2008 Southern University 1st baseman/DH, Calvin Anderson, was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates today in the 12th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. Anderson (R/R, 6-7, 240, Jr., Seattle, WA, Seattle Prep. HS), pick 354 of the 12th round, batted .354 this season, with eight home runs (t-1st on team) and 36 rbi's. He also collected nine doubles and one triple. Anderson was a second team 2007 All-SWAC selection. |
