Feb. 11, 2007 PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) -- William Byrd scored 23 points and pulled down nine rebounds to help Arkansas-Pine Bluff to 73-58 victory Saturday over Southern University in a Southwestern Athletic Conference game. UAPB (7-16, 5-7) held Southern (5-19, 4-8) to 33 percent shooting for the game, despite 24 points by Southern's Deforrest Riley-Smith, who also had 12 rebounds. Steffon Wiley had nine points, and Chris Davis eight points for Southern. Larry Williams added 16 for the Golden Lions and Terrance Calvin scored 13.
Byrd had three blocks, three steals and made 10 of 14 field goal attempts, including
3 of 5 from 3-point range. |
