The Southwestern Athletic Conference announces its 2007 Preseason All-Conference Football Team with Arkansas-Pine Bluff quarterback Chris Wallace and Southern defensive back Jarmaul George taking top honors. The team was selected by nominations and votes from the member schools' coaches and sports information contacts along with selected members of the media. Wallace, the 2006 SWAC Offensive Player of the Year, finished the season completing 129 of 211 pass attempts (61.1 completion percentage) for 2,023 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also rushed 73 times for 161 yards and two scores. He was third in the conference averaging 168.6 passing yards per game and was first in pass efficiency with a rating of 164.4. George was a standout member of the Jaguar defensive unit in 2006. He ended the season with 51 total tackles (30 solo) along with 3.5 tackles for loss. He had five interceptions finished with 10 passes defended and a fumble recovery. In the predicted order of finish in both the coaches/SID poll and the media poll, Alabama A&M and Arkansas-Pine Bluff were chosen to finish first in their respective divisions.
