Baton Rouge, LA - The Southern University women's basketball team will try to return to their winning ways when the Lady Lions of the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff visit on Saturday, February 16th. Southern (9-11, 7-4 SWAC) were swept in their season series versus Jackson State University on Saturday, February 11th. The Jaguars were led by junior Deidra Jackson, who scored 14 points for her 10th double digit scoring game of the season. Senior Indi Johnson was the only other Jag to score in double digits. The Los Angeles, California native ended the game with 12 points and seven rebounds. As the Blue and Gold prepare for the Lady Lions and former assistant coach Danny Evans they can't forget what happened in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Head coach Sandy Pugh's former assistant was able to extend his record to 3-0 versus his former boss with a 52-48 defeat of the Jaguars. Coach Pugh has a record of 15-4 over her eight years on "the bluff" when a winning streak is broken and the Jags come out in the next game with a victory.
