Baton Rouge, LA - The Southern University Lady Jaguars soccer team are looking forward to the opening of the 2008 season. The year begins on Saturday, August 16th with an exhibition contest versus William Carey College at A. W. Mumford stadium.

The Lady Jags have already completed three straight days of conditioning with Sunday off. They will return to training on Monday morning at 6:30 am with a 4 on 4 drill.

"The first three days of practice was a get to know," said head coach John Knighten. "We have a new assistant coach and a lot of new players who will be counted on this season. We used those days so everyone can learn about each other. This week we will start working on our game preparation."

Saturday's game will begin at 6:00 pm and is free and open to the public.
