Baton Rouge, LA - The Lady Jaguars soccer team will kick off the 2008-2009 athletic year for the Southern University athletic department as they play host to William Carey College in exhibition action on Saturday, August 16th.

"We are very optimistic about the season and the team we are playing against," said head coach John Knighten. "We have had a great preseason because most of the players came back in shape. Our players want to compete this year."

The game will begin at 6:00 pm and will be played at A. W. Mumford stadium. The event is free and open to the public.
