Baton Rouge, LA - For the second time this season sophomore Tiffany Cantu earned the Southwestern Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honor.

Cantu, a 5-2 defender from Dallas, Texas, assisted in recording the Lady Jaguars first shutout of the season in their 4-0 victory over Alcorn State University. The win was the first of two straight for Southern as they traveled to Pine Bluff, AR and defeated the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff 2-0.
