Baton Rouge, LA -- Southern University Lady Jaguars Lanaya Jenkins and Megan Hodge have earned their first Southwestern Athletic Conference pitchers of the week accolades.

To open the season, Jenkins threw 14 innings in three appearances (two starts). In her two starts, she worked 12 innings allowing seven hits and no runs. She walked one and struck out eight.

Hodge won for week three where she was involved in two appearances on the mound. Hodge pitched11 innings allowing three hits, one run, and four walks while striking out 14. Against Alcorn State on Feb. 29, she worked six innings allowing no runs and no walks while striking out eight. In that contest, she also was1-for-2 from the plate with a walk and a run scored.
