Baton Rouge, LA - The Southern University softball team received another post-season honor when Courtney Chappell was named to the 2007 All-Louisiana second team.

"This is a real honor for me, I am real excited about it," said Chappell.

The Gardena, California native lead the team in hitting with a .360 batting average. Chappell recorded eight doubles, two triples, 27 runs, 40 hits, two stolen bases and 17 RBI's.

"Both coach Hill and I are really happy for her," said head coach Nancy Marshall. "She played hard each game for us throughout the season."
