Baton Rouge, LA - The last time Jackson State University was in Baton Rouge at Seymour Gymnasium they came out on top of the SU invitational tournament. The Lady Panthers did not play SU during the tournament. The last time these to clubs met the Lady Tigers came out on top 30-21, 30-25, 30-20.

Southern (9-15, 1-7 SWAC) took Sunday off after the invitational then returned to their regular season schedule and traveled to Alcorn State, Mississippi on Monday, October 29th and defeated the Alcorn State Lady Braves 3-0. Junior Ena Payne recorded 14 kills while freshman Lourena Beathley ended the game with 10 digs.

Jackson State will challenge the Blue and Gold on Halloween night then the next day, the current Southwestern Athletic champions the Prairie View A&M University Lady Panthers come in to Seymour Gymnasium to take Southern.

Game times for both events are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and the events are free and open to the public.
